Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) Video

This video was made by Taegan, my daughter, using VideoStar.  She spent the last two days of second grade with us.  The kids had a ball making the video!  I'm definitely going miss these kids.  They are FULL of energy...and it's quite apparent in this video!  Much thanks to Taegan.

Tomorrow: Last Day of Second Grade 2013

To my Second Grade Class at Kingsbury Elementary,

As we come to the end of this 2012-2013 school year, I want each of you to know how much I’m going to miss you, and how each of you has made our class such a  special place.  Every day you have allowed me to see the world through the eyes of a child.  Your kindness, laughter, and enthusiasm have made each day special.

You brought your own unique talents to our class.  It may have been in academics, creative writing, athletics, artistic ability, etc.  I’ve had the pleasure of watching you in all these areas!  I am so proud of the way you tried to do what is right and offer a helping hand to someone in need of help or maybe just some kind words.  You each represent the core values of KES!

I love each one of you.  You have done a super job this year, and I know you will do great next year!

Love,

Mrs. Melanie Allen

2nd grade awards program

Each student walked across the stage as Mrs. Cramer called their names for being "Successful in Second Grade" to receive their certificate!  I stood at the edge of the stage, so I wasn't able to get pictures of each student like I wanted.  No one is more disappointed than I am!  However, I did get to see each one of my students smile as they walked up the steps to the stage full of pride!

Special awards were also given to a few select students.

Excellence in Reading: Katie Rawls
Excellence in Mathematics: Isabella Brigido
Most Improved Reader: Christopher Arteaga
Citizenship: Evelyn Sanchez
Most Improved Overall: William Cruz
Perfect Attendance: Aryana Apaez, Marcos Posada

KES is very proud of you!

KES Talent Show and Art Show!

Watch our principal, Mrs. Cramer, profess her love for Chik-fil-A!
5th Grade Strings

The twins sang "This little light of mine".  They had some of us in tears; it was so cute.
Viviana was so brave!  She was the only one in my class to audition for the taent show.  She rocked a Taylor Swift song, "Trouble".
Mrs. Glover and all her craziness put a snazzy group of ladies together to sing Sister Sledge's, "We are Family"!   They had the whole crowd on their feet singing and dancing.  What a perfect motto for Kingsbury Elementary!
Sweet Viviana!
James was selected by our Principal, Mrs. Cramer, among several other students to have his art framed and displayed in the halls of Kingsbury Elementary for many years to come!

Mother's Day Gifts

I miss you when we're not together
I'm growing up so fast
See how big I've gotten
Since you saw me last?
As I grow, I'll change a lot,
The years will fly right by.
You'll wonder how I grew so quick
When and where and why?
So save this card in a safe place,
And take it out each year.
The memories will come back of me,
When I was small and dear

Field Day 2013

We were finally able to have Field Day today!  Rain caused us to cancel last Friday, so our raindate was planned for today.  Our terrific team of Field Day planners came up with a fabulous indoor schedule so we could have our special day, rain or shine.  And guess what?  It rained.  But it didn't rain on our indoor fun!
Check out the pictures of our fun events.
